The
following information is a summary about Levbid.
It is not intended to replace a doctor's instructions.
Levbid USES
Levbid (Hyoscyamine) is used to control symptoms
associated with disorders of the gastrointestinal
(GI) tract. It works by decreasing the motion of
the stomach and intestines and the secretion of stomach
fluids, including acid. Levbid is also used in the
treatment of bladder spasms, peptic ulcer disease,
diverticulitis, colic, irritable bowel syndrome,
cystitis, and pancreatitis. Levbid may also be used
to treat certain heart conditions, to control the
symptoms of Parkinson's disease and rhinitis (runny
nose), and to reduce excess saliva production.
Levbid DIRECTIONS
Levbid (Hyoscyamine) comes as a tablet, an extended-release
(long-acting) capsule, a liquid to take by mouth,
and in an injectable form. The tablets and liquid
are usually taken three or four times a day. The
extended-release capsules are usually taken twice
a day. Do not crush, chew, or divide the extended-release
capsules. Levbid injections are given by qualified
health care professionals. Follow the directions
on your prescription label carefully, and ask your
doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not
understand. Take Levbid exactly as directed. Do not
take more or less of it or take it more often than
prescribed by your doctor. Levbid controls symptoms
associated with disorders of the GI tract, but it
does not cure the disorders. Continue to take Levbid
even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Levbid
without talking to your doctor.
