Denavir
USES
Denavir is used for reoccurring herpes (cold sores or
fever blisters) in adults.
HOW do you USE Denavir?
Use Denavir as directed, applying a thin layer to the
affected area. Use Denavir at the first sign of tingling
or swelling in the affected area.
SIDE EFFECTS
At the site of application, mild redness, irritation,
rash, or mild numbness may occur. If these continue or
are bothersome, notify your doctor. If you notice other
effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS
Before using Denavir, tell your doctor if you have: any
allergies. Denavir should only be used on sores of the
lips and face. Avoid use in or near the eyes, as irritation
may occur. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before
using Denavir. It is not known whether penciclovir is
excreted into human milk after applying it to the skin.
Before breast-feeding, discuss with your doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription
med you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without
doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE
If Denavir overdose is suspected, contact your local
poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Denaviricine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES
Denavir is not to be shared with others.
MISSED DOSE
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If
it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed
dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the
dose to catch up.
STORAGE
Store Denavir at or below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C)
away from sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze.
